The Little Lilypad is a lifestyle blog mostly written by a mum to two beautiful, cheeky and entertaining daughters. It is sometimes written by the Man on the Pad or by one of our baby bloggers. Occasionally we accept guest posts too. There is frequently talk of sustainable living, saving money, lifestyle and travel. It is hopefully helpful, sometimes funny and always honest.

Don't wait : time won't

I know that January is a time that alot of parents shudder at the thought of how much has been spent over the Christmas period and decide to tighten their belts on their spending.

I have heard countless times, "when we can afford it" but unless we win the lottery, will we ever be in a position to have everything we want?

So echoing the words of Stacy Risenmay, if you wait until you have enough money to have another baby, to decorate and make your home your own, you never will. If you wait until you have enough money to buy everything new, you are missing the point. It is the old, the new, the hand-made, the hand-me down and the much loved things in your home and your life, that make it unique and your own.

Dont wait, time won't.

  1. You betcha! I very much believe in this motto, I was 'waiting' to have my first baby and thankfully it just 'happened' but otherwise, 12 years down the line, whatever I was waiting for probably still wouldn't have happened! Thanks for linking up :)

  2. You are very very right! When we found out we were pregnant I was only 21 and so many people said I was ruining my life and should wait, but all I could think was "wait for what?" - I don't think there's ever a 'right' time for things to happen and I think you've put it perfectly. Don't wait, because time won't and one day your waiting might turn into regret!

  6. You are so right, if you wait for everything to be perfect you will never do anything.

  7. So true! I've bern looking at projects where you can get paint which has been left over from other people's decorating projects to sort the boy's room and I hope to make/recycle things too :)
